Black Box Explains... Class II and II+ Repeaters
Class II and II+ repeaters.
Maximum node distance using standard Class II repeaters:
Class II repeaters can be cascaded, but you have to be careful about node-to-node cable distance. You can cascade one level, although youre limited to a maximum of two repeaters between any two nodes. Maximum node-to-node distance is 205 meters (672.5 ft.).
More installation flexibility with cascaded BLACK BOX® Class II+ repeaters:
Class II+ repeaters enable you to cascade more units and build tree structures. The maximum Category 5 cable distance between nodes cannot exceed 215 meters (705.3 ft.).
Because you can cascade more levels, Class II+ repeaters give you greater flexibility in network expansion. You can even have a node-to-node link with 100-meter (328-ft.) connections between node hubs and a central hub.
